Hard drive image software is a must if you are serious about backing up your data, and I mean every last drop of it. What imaging software will do is create a mirror image of your hard disk , so that every bit of data will be fully backed up.

A full disk image of your hard drive will protect you against any data loss, whether it is a virus, faulty software or just a plain old hard drive crash.

Now what does an "image" mean? Basically it is just like it sounds, using hard drive image software, it creates a perfect mirror "data" image of your hard drive that stores all of your important data.

Then if your data should ever be destroyed, you can just restore that image and everything will be completely back to normal!

No other form of data backup offers this because this method literally backups everything down to the last little preference that you have set. If you don't make an image of your hard drive and decide to just backup your important files, then if your data is ever lost somehow, you would still have your important files but have to reinstall all of the software that was associated with them so you could access them.

Not to mention the fact that you probably have all the settings on your computer just the way you like it, so you would have to redo those all over again too.

Making an image of your hard drive I believe can be done in DOS for free. But let's face it; DOS requires computer expertise that most people don't have. You must know DOS commands and codes to properly create a hard drive image, and even then it is still tricky.

I have been using DOS for more then 10 years and still am not completely a hundred percent sure how to make a perfect copy of my hard drive, or how to properly restore it, which is just as important.

That is why I recommend you do yourself a favor and get some easy to use hard drive image software . To start creating an image of your hard drive using hard drive image software, it will only take a few clicks, and will start the process and complete it ASAP.

Then if your hard drive should ever get wiped out, the software will make it easy for you to restore your hard drive, in DOS, using the image. DOS will be your temporary operating system until you restore your hard drive image, but the software makes the DOS part so easy a child could do it.

Business Owners: If you are a business owner and run a server for Windows or Linux, then you should check out Acronis True Image workstation.

Hard Drive Image Reminder: You can store your hard drive image on the hard drive itself, unless there is not enough room of course.

But that is not a really good idea because although the image will be protected if your hard drives data is ever destroyed, it still doesn't protect you against acts of nature like fire, floods, your house or business being destroyed and so on.

So always store the image on either a DVD using a burner, another hard drive, an external storage device or online at a remote backup location.

More Informative Resources - Prior to domain registration, it is important to review the web hosting services with a consultant. Only a professional can point out the discrepancies in the domain registration or other technical aspects. Similar a professional from internet phone services should be called to approve of the ip phones installed. However, a web design consulting is seldom required if a website design has already been incorporated into the site.
